How would you like your email address to be you@crhockey.com?
All e-mail sent to you@crhockey.com will be forwarded to your current email address, so you don't have to worry about checking another email account. It'll be just as fast as sending an email to the address you have now, but it'll be more interesting, and shorter than a lot of addresses you may already have. Which is easier to remember: bob54123985@aol.com or bob@crhockey.com ? It's also a good way to show your devotion as a Cedar Rapids hockey fan to your friends and family.
Legal Stuff:
As usual the typical legal garble is enforced - don't spam... don't send hate mail... you know, the basics.
Furthermore, we won't assign email addresses that look like a players name, for example, we won't let you have goepfert@crhockey.com or anything of that nature. Unless, of course, your name is actually goepfert... we might ask that you use a first initial or something to distinguish that you aren't the actual player.. for example: mgoepfert@crhockey.com. And if you're actually Bobby... well... players are more than entitled to have their own address here. I've just got to come up with some sort of a way to confirm that you actually are who you say you are. (Man, this is a mess). For legal purposes, guess the people serving the mail would rather not have to worry about a legal scuffle of someone impersonating a player. Of course you can always have goepfertfan@crhockey.com or something of that nature. Submit what you want, we'll figure something out.
At any rate, the form to sign up is below. We don't have an automated process for doing this or for checking to see if your desired name has already been taken. Hopefully atleast the name-checking part of it will be in place by the start of June. In the meantime, list off your top 3 choices and provide the rest of the information.
